The Lee’s Summit Arts Council (LSAC) in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Department invites entries for the 2015 Gamber Center juried rotating art exhibit.
All media and any subject matter are eligible for consideration. Artists from the Lee’s Summit, Eastern Jackson County and surrounding metropolitan areas, age 18 and older are eligible to submit work. Emerging and career artists are encouraged to submit work. Four(4) artists will be selected to exhibit their artwork for a three-month period in 2015/2016. Artists interested in exhibiting their artwork for the three-month duration may submit their qualifications for consideration.

Definitions & Conditions of Entry (truncated)
- A quilt is a fabric sandwich comprised of at least two layers: a top, a back and usually a filling. These are held together with quilting or tying threads.
- Integration of non-fabric items is acceptable.
- Up to two entries of original work per person are permitted.
- Preliminary acceptance will be granted based on digital images. Final acceptance will be granted after receipt and examination of quilt.
- The jurors and staff of the Schweinfurth Art Center reserve the right to refuse any accepted entry for exhibition if it does not contain the same qualities as the submitted image.
- Quilts must measure a minimum of 900 square inches total (height x width=square inches). The vertical dimensions of any single piece may not exceed 108 inches.
- Quilts must have been completed in 2012, 2013, or 2014.
- Quilts must be in pristine condition and be show ready.
- Quilts must have a continuous 3” wide sleeve attached to the back of the top of the quilt. Exceptions are made if appropriate means of hanging or display is provided.
- Quilts must be available from October 12, 2014-January 12, 2015.
- The Art Center will retain a 25% commission on all sales made during the exhibition. An insurance value and a sale price, which includes commission (unless the quilt is not for sale), must be included in the application.

The nineteenth in the series of international juried competitions dedicated to promoting the contemporary quilt by serving as a showcase for NEW work ) that provides the viewer with an appreciation of the variety of techniques and innovative trends in the medium of layered and stitched fabric.
The jurors will select works that represent unique approaches to the medium and demonstrate the breadth and diversity of contemporary expressions. Visitors to Quilt National ’15 will see that the time honored traditions are thriving and are being expressed in new forms as today’s artists rise to meet the challenges of new techniques and materials.
RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
AUTHORSHIP
Artist must be 18 years or older. All work must be the result of independent effort. Work cannot be created for or the product of an instructional setting in which another artist or teacher has provided guidance and/or suggestions. The work must be an original design, not a copy or a variation on the original design of another artist working in any medium.
ENTRY FEE
A non-refundable entry fee of $45.00 (forty-five US dollars) will accompany the entry submission. This fee includes the entry fee and the online submission of the full view and detail image of up to three quilts.
DATE & PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF WORK
All entries must be NEW work – completed after September 1, 2012.
MATERIALS
The work must possess the basic structural characteristics of a quilt. It must be predominately fabric or fabric-like material and MUST be composed of at least two full and distinct layers – a face layer and a backing layer. The face layer may be described by any or a combination of the following terms: pieced, appliquéd, whole cloth, stitched/fused to a foundation. The face and backing layers must be held together by hand- or machine-made functional quilting stitches or other elements that pierce all layers and are distributed throughout the surface of the work.
At least some of these stitches or elements should be visible on the back of the work. As an alternative, the work may be a modular construction (an assemblage of smaller quilts). Each individual module, however, must meet the above structural criteria.
Over $6000 in prizes will be awarded.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Work will be judged on originality, design, technique, and craftsmanship. Jurors will select no more than one work by an artist. The Fiber Artists of San Antonio (FASA) are pleased to announce a call for entries for the 2014 Annual Exhibition. Part of our mission is to promote and advance fiber art through the education of members and the public. This is an opportunity for fiber artists to exhibit their work and for the community to gain a greater appreciation for fiber art.
Eligibility
- Submissions must have been completed in the past 2 years, since October 2012.
- Entries should be of original design and execution with a major focus on fiber or fiber techniques.
- Collaborations are eligible. Artwork sale reimbursement will be made to only one artist. Collaborating artists must make sales split arrangements between each other prior to artwork submittal.
- FASA members and fiber artists residing in the state of Texas are eligible to enter.
Requirements and Entry Format (truncated)
- All entries will be juried by digital photograph. Each entry MUST have two JPEG (.jpeg) images, one full shot and one detail shot. Each entry must be labeled with the title of the work and the dimension of the work. Each entry must be at least 300 dpi and no larger than 7" in any direction.
- Artist commission is 50%. Please keep this in mind as you prepare your entry forms. No changes to the price will be allowed after submission.
- All selected entries must remain hanging for the entire duration of the show, Friday November 21 through Tuesday December 16, 2014.
- All entries must be ready for installation, with an appropriate hanging rod or device.

Entries are now being accepted for Intertwined: Contemporary Southeastern Fiber Art. Artists are invited to submit up to two works utilizing any textile- or fiber-based techniques to Intertwined, a survey of the best contemporary fiber art in the Southeast. The exhibition will showcase a wide range of content, material, and techniques with the common threads of craftsmanship and passion.
Open to all artists working in one or more fiber techniques and living in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
Awards include $1,000 for Best of Show and three Honorable Mention awards of $200 each.
The exhibition will be held at the Hudgens Center for the Arts from January 13 through March 21, 2015.
LOCATION: The Hudgens Center for the Arts, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Bldg. 300, Duluth, GA 30097. The exhibition may travel to another location if a second venue can be arranged.
ENTRY FEE: $30 for up to two entries. Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance (SEFAA) members receive a $10 discount.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Entries must be submitted through CaFÉ™.
- Up to two works may be submitted.
- Submitted work must be original in design and must not have been previously shown in any major gallery or museum. Work completed since January 1, 2013 is preferred.
- Entries must utilize at least one textile- or fiber-based technique (interlaced, felted, stitched, dyed, coiled, knotted, printed, spun, woven, etc.) and can be of any material.
- Work must not weigh over 75 pounds including any mounting hardware and/or armature.
- You must personally deliver, install, and remove installation pieces.
- Jpeg image files are required for each work entered:
- For each entry, include a full view plus one or two additional detail images for clarification. (Minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 images per entry.)

The Art Center of Corpus Christi is delighted to invite TEXAS artists to an open call for submissions to THREAD SENSE– A Fiber Exhibit 2015. This exhibit will provide TEXAS artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in fiber art techniques. All Fiber art forms are eligible. Any art form that uses textiles such as fabric, yarn, & natural or synthetic fibers– including fabric paintings, embroidery, quilts, and wearable art may be submitted to this exhibit. The subject of your work is open. Artist must submit only TWO entries as JPEG FILES ONLY.

● Must be original art, completed in the last 2 years & not previously shown in an Art Center juried exhibit.
● 2D pieces cannot exceed 48” in any direction (excluding frame).
