The Frankston Arts Centre invites contemporary artists to exhibit to the theme Human Landscape.

The 6 degree Art Prize is conducted by the Frankston Arts Centre, a business unit of the Frankston City Council. It is a not-profit making exhibition and offers two non-acquisitive prizes; The Frankston Arts Centre Prize (Frankston) and the Walker St Gallery Prize (Dandenong).
 
The winner of the Frankston Arts Centre Prize will be exhibit a solo show on the Curved Wall Gallery, Frankston Arts Centre for 6 weeks including a catered opening, printed invitations and assistance with promotion for the exhibition prize. The winner of the Walker St Gallery Prize will exhibit at the Walker St Gallery, Dandenong for 4 weeks, including an opening, invitations and assistance with promotion for the exhibition prize.
 
$10 non-refundable judging fee. This $10 does not confirm entry into the final exhibition. By applying for this exhibition artists are aware that if successful they must send a check or money order of $27 for the exhibition entry fee.  All entry fees are non-refundable.
 
Artists for the final exhibition will be selected from entries submitted to the pre-selection by a panel of independent judges.
 
An artist may submit only ONE work only and must be living in Australia. Entries must be the original unaided work of the artist, executed within two years prior to the closing date. No third party may enter a work on behalf of an artist. All mediums will be accepted. Exhibition of digital work such as projection will need to be discussed with the organisers.

 

The original artwork should explore the theme 'A Human Landscape'. An accompanying artist statement (1 page maximum) should reflect the artist's interpretation of the theme. The judges take a broad view of the theme as that relates to the human experience both physically and relating to the qualities of the mind.

An image of the artwork being submitted for pre-selection must be included as a photo or on a CD(300dpi JPEG or TIFF fi le format).

Works should be a maximum of 1.2m wide and 2m high. Sculptures should either be free standing or fi t on a plinth 500mm x 500mm.

Works indicated for sales will attract a sales 20% commission.
