Tapestry Artists of Puget Sound (TAPS) invites artists to submit their tapestries to PACIFIC TIME ZONE. Pacific Time Zone will hang at The Arts Center in Corvallis, OR (theartscenter.net) from August 18 – September 20, 2016.


Eligibility

Any tapestry artist living in the Pacific Time Zone may enter. Work incorporating techniques other than tapestry will be considered as long as the primary medium is tapestry. Work must have been completed after May 1, 2013. Artists may submit up to three pieces, but a maximum of one piece per artist will be accepted.


Awards

The juror will select two tapestries for the First and Second Place Awards. The First Place award winner will receive $250 and the Second Place award winner will receive $150.


Submissions

•The juror will select tapestries from digital images.
•Digital image requirements: For each entry, submit two digital images: one of the entire tapestry and one of a detail.

Art League Gallery: Tabletop Exhibit

Tabletop is an international juried exhibit of ceramics and other functional art forms designed for food, drink & the table.

Open to all artists, Art League Gallery members receive discounted entry rate.

Entry Fee: $35 per artist, up to two entries. $30 per artist for Art League members.

Functional Art Forms Juror: Kate Lydon

All work will be seen by both jurors. Ceramics work will be juried for final acceptance and awards by McKenzie Smith, and non-ceramics will be juried for final acceptance and awards by Kate Lydon.

Entry:
•Ceramic work may not be larger than 16” X 16” X 16”
•Other Functional Artwork must be no larger than 16” X 16” X 16” with exceptions made for fiber work (such as tablecloths or runners). Note: for artists who wish to enter furniture (such as tables or dining chairs), please contact the Gallery: gallery@theartleague.org/ 703-683-1780 before submitting your online entry.
•All work must be for sale. No single work may exceed $6,000 in value. Artists will pay a 40% commission to the Gallery on all sales.


Awards:

· Ceramics Awards: $1,000 for Best in Show; two, $400 Equal Merit awards

· Functional Art Forms Awards: $1,000 for Best in Show; two, $400 Equal Merit awards

The City of Walnut Creek, in conjunction with the Walnut Creek Downtown Library presents annual exhibitions in the Library Community Art Gallery.

This program is part of the Arts, Recreation and Community Services Department, administered by Bedford Gallery under the direction of the Walnut Creek Arts Commission.

Guidelines: (truncated)

The City of Walnut Creek, in conjunction with the Walnut Creek Downtown Library, is now accepting proposals for the Library Community Art Gallery’s 2016-2017 exhibition season. The gallery is open to applications from individual artists or non-commercial groups with priority going to those living or working in Contra Costa County.

Each exhibition runs 4 to 6 weeks, and artists are responsible for the installation of their own work. The Arts Commission Selection Committee and Bedford Gallery staff will review exhibition plans in advance of each proposed project.

Fee (non-refundable) for application review: $150/ organization, $100/2-3 individuals, and $50/individuals.

Mission Statement
The Embroiderers’ Guild of America acknowledges the value of needlework in art and history. The national exhibit is a representative selection of the best in artistic and technical works. It is through the needle’s eye that EGA embraces both traditional and contemporary needlework while expanding the recognition of embroidery as an art form. Participation in the 21st National Exhibit is open to EGA members and the public.

Eligibility
Two categories of embroidery will be accepted for the national exhibit.
Original: An original work is one, which from the beginning, is solely the creative product of the stitcher.
Adaptation: An adaptation is needlework inspired by or based upon a source other than needlework and modified through significant design changes. Source(s) are to be documented.
Any materials and any techniques will be juried as long as a portion of the work is done with a needle with an eye either by hand or by machine.
Entries must not have been accepted for a previous EGA national exhibit.
Each entrant may submit up to three entries.
All work must be free of any violation of existing copyrights or trademarks.
Teaching pieces will not be considered.
Pieces must have been completed from 2014 to present.
Works deemed inappropriate by the jurors or gallery will be refused.

Entry Fees
For EGA members, a non-refundable entry fee of $30 for the first entry, $25 for the second, and $20 for the third entry will be charged.
For non-members, a non-refundable entry fee of $45 for the first entry, $30 for the second, and $25 for the third entry will be charged.
