Fiber in the Present Tense 2014 is a juried exhibition to showcase the fiber art work of the MA/RI Chapter of the Surface Design Association (SDA). The exhibition has an open theme, and all media utilizing surface design, weaving, 2D and 3D structures, quilts, stitching, or any other contemporary art textile techniques, will be considered.
If you are interested in exhibiting and are not yet a member of SDA, please visit www.surfacedesign.org for membership information. Once you join SDA, you will be eligible to apply for the show.
JUROR: Deborah Corsini, curator at the San Jose (CA) Museum of Quilts and Textiles.
AWARDS: One SDA Award of Excellence to a recipient selected by the juror.
- The exhibition has an open theme, and all media utilizing surface design, weaving, 2D and 3D structures, quilts, stitching, or any other contemporary art textile techniques, will be considered. Video installations are not permitted.
- Work for consideration must have been completed after January 2011.
- The maximum artwork size is 102”H x 60”W.
The submission fee, for up to three pieces, is $30. You may pay using PayPal or by check.
