Fiber Celebrated 2011 is a national juried fiber show held in conjunction with the Conference.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (truncated)
· Fiber Celebrated 2011 is open to all artists and craftspeople that design and produce their own work in fiber.
· Entries must be handwoven or handmade fiber forms, original in concept and design except where traditional drafts are used and noted.
· Entries must be independently created by the entrant and not the result of a class or workshop.
· Entries must have been completed after January 1, 2010.
· Work should be ready to hang as a single unit, appropriate installation hardware and full instructions must be included.
· Entries must be available for the duration of the exhibition July 21–September 24, 2011.
· Pieces in all categories are limited to 5’ x 7’ x 5’ in size.
· Intermountain Weavers Conference Fiber Celebrated Committee reserves the right of final interpretation of these conditions of entry.

CATEGORIES
Entrants may enter more than one of the following categories, but are limited to a total of two entries per any one category and three entries overall.
A. Decorative Functional (home décor): Pieces meant to be used (table linens, coverlets, rugs, pillows, etc).
B. Functional Wearable’s: Garments meant to be worn.
C. Nonfunctional 2-Dimensional: Work in fiber emphasizing decorative or expressive ideas (wall hangings and tapestries).
D. Functional 3-Dimensional: Pieces meant to be used (baskets, purses, etc.)
E. Nonfunctional 3-Dimensional: Pieces designed as sculpture.

JUROR
Juanita Girardin is a fiber artist with a studio in Velarde, New Mexico. She has exhibited in America’s most recognized craft events. Juanita has been honored with awards at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, the Smithsonian Craft Show, the American Craft Expo, the St. Louis Art Fair, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, and other events.

ENTRY FEE
Entry fee is nonrefundable. The fee is $15.00 per entry item for IWC members and $18.00 per entry item for non-IWC members.

NOTIFICATION OF JUROR'S DECISION
Entrants will be notified of the juror's decision no later than May 1, 2011.

AWARDS
Cash and merchandise awards will be awarded at the discretion of the juror. Awards will be presented in all categories.

SALES
The Center of Southwest Studies will not charge a commission for the sale of artwork from the exhibition. Sale of work will be handled between the artist and the intended party.
