This exhibit aims to complement various citywide exhibits happening in conjunction with Philagrafika 2010, a multi-sited international festival of contemporary art
(www.philagrafika.org). Attention textile artists: think text, grid, language, words, script, graphics; and, think texture, technique, tradition, innovation!!!

Rules for Entry: (truncated)

  • Artists may submit up to a maximum of two images, completed within the last two years, to be in the exhibition. Due to space restrictions, 2-D work must be 30"x30" or less, 3-D work on pedestals no larger than 18" x18"x 18". Freestanding works will be accepted. No large installations can be considered.

  • Artists must live, work or have some relationship to the Philadelphia/5 county area.
  • Entry fee $35
  • CD or quality photos are acceptable.

Selection of Artwork:

Entries will be selected by the curator based on their quality and relevance to the goal/theme of the exhibit. Unusual, experimental, and traditional fiber work... is all good. All artists will be notified by mail by December 15th, 2009.

DaVinci Art Alliance is a non-profit artists organization located in South Philadelphia. The organization was founded in 1931 to serve the needs of professional artists and artisans in the Delaware Valley region. The DaVinci Art Alliance has over 100 members and is supported through membership dues and gallery rentals. It features exhibitions of members and non-members artwork, as well as special events, performances, lectures, and a newsletter.
