Types of Grant Available

Project Grants £250 - £5,000
This level of grant is to allow individuals to explore project ideas or to build their creative, artistic and professional capability over time. If your project includes an element of production you must have a partner organisation which will present your work in Wales. Applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to manage public funds effectively. You may only have one of these grants a year measured from the date the project starts.

Production Grants £5,001 - £20,000
This level of grant is to support artists in the creation of new artistic product in collaboration with a new partner organisation which will present their work in Wales. For new touring product, existing partnerships will be considered. Work must be innovative and artistically challenging. You may only have one of these grants a year measured from the date the project starts.

Creative Wales Awards £5,001 - £12,000
These enable artists to develop their creative practice. This might include the creation of a new, experimental and innovative work that takes forward the art form and artistic practice. Artists may propose taking time away from their usual commitments in order to concentrate on developing their work. It enables practising artists working in any creative discipline, or across disciplines, to enhance and refresh their skills, creativity and creative partnerships. You must have an established track record in your art form. You may only have one of these grants every three years measured from the date the project starts.

Major Creative Wales Awards £20,000 or £25,000
In addition to the above, artists should demonstrate a consistent level of acheivement and contribution within their area of professional practice in Wales. For applications of £25,000 the projects must include a strong element of production. You may only have one of these grants measured from the date the project starts.

Training £250 - £2,000
This type of grant aims to support individuals wishing to undertake or purchase training within Wales, the UK or abroad. It also aims to support the provision of all artistic, creative, technical, business and marketing training in the arts in Wales. You may only have one of these grants every year.
