BLUE RIDGE HANDWEAVING SHOW

Deadline: August 31, 2006

Biennial international exhibit of handwovens.

Rules (Partial)
Entries must be handwoven on a loom.
Weavers may submit up to two entries.
Must be original designs except where traditional drafts are used and noted.
Must have been completed within the last two years.

Entrants must indicate amateur or professional status on entry form.

Categories
There will be amateur and professional divisions in each of the following categories:

Accessories - Scarves, purses, jewelry, etc.
Decorative Functional - Linens, rugs, pillows, afghans, etc.
Decorative Non-Functional - Wall hangings, tapestries, 3-D work, etc.
Wearable - Clothing
Yardage - Minimum 3-yard length plus 14" full-width handling piece. Roll both pieces on a cardboard tube - do not fold. Weaver must be willing to allow the yardage to be hemmed and weighted for display.

Neal Howard, a professional weaver and dyer for 15 years, is a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild, Piedmont Craftsmen, and Handweavers Guild of America.
Liz Spear is a full-time studio weaver of yardage and maker of garments, in Western North Carolina.
Kathrin Weber Scott is a professional hand-dyer and handweaver.

Awards: Awards will be given in each category. Special awards, including the HGA Award, will also be presented.

There is a non-refundable fee of $25.00 for up to two entries.
